Lignano Open, Venice, Italy. Day two.

I haven't felt good about my game for a month or so and no matter how hard I tried, nothing clicked. A week at home and slight improvementI felt a bit more confident heading to Italy. Its the third Alps event in Italy and all the courses have been really good and this week is no different.

Tuesdays practice was again a bit of a struggle but I was not doing much wrong so standing on the tee for Thursdays first round, I was not overconfident. The front nine ended up level after being -1 through six so I was a little disapointed. The back 9 started slowly but two birdies on the last four holes got me to -1 for the day, way off the pace at tied in 46th but none the less I was happy with the score.

An early tee of 8.47 for the second round and the conditions were perfect, fresh greens and no wind. A steady start with six straight pars but I was putting well for the first time inwhat seemed like forever. I was challenging the hole with every putt and was unlucky not to be a couple under. The 16th is a par 5 dog leg left to right which I had birdied in the first round, this time I went one better and chipped in from off the green for an eagle, more like the old me.. I finished the first nine at -2 and made four birdies on the back for a -6 (66) one of the lowest scores of the day. This was a massive confidence builder and hopefully I can build on this for tomorrows final round, but at least I made the cut by a huge margin from where I was after round one..
